ABOUT ME
I recently retired from Van's Aircraft, where I worked in the Engineering Prototype shop as an A&P mechanic for almost 4 years (before the pandemic). I performed maintenance and inspections on Van's fleet of demo aircraft and worked with the Engineering team designing and testing new parts. I also created and updated plans pages, Service Bulletins and Service Letters.
We moved back to the Toledo, OH area during the pandemic to be close to our family. After moving back home I worked on the Van's Aircraft Tech Support team remotely for the past 4 years.
I built an award winning RV-6A in 2005 and finished building my RV-7 in 2021. You can read about my Bronze Lindy winning RV-7 in my "Stick to the Plans" article in Kitplanes magazine.
I am currently building an RV-12 and using it as a teaching tool for my granddaughter, who is enrolled in Toledo Public School's Airframe & Powerplant mechanic vo-tech program, where she will earn her A&P certificate in high school. How awesome is that!
I got my pilot's license way back in 1990 and have about 1500 hours flight time. I have an A&P License and I am a DAR-T for the East Michigan FSDO.
I am an EAA Technical Counselor for EAA Chapter 582 and I've flown over 200 Young Eagles, one at a time in my RV's.
I have been a mechanic my whole life and I am very meticulous and detail oriented. This background helped me build two award winning aircraft.
I believe my eye for detail and my methodical inspection technique is the difference between a "paperwork" airworthiness inspection and a "flight safety" airworthiness inspection!
The choice is yours, do you want a thorough airworthiness inspection or do you simply want a paperwork airworthiness inspection?
Contact me and let's discuss your airworthiness inspection, I won't let you down.
